Michael R. Banks, Esq.

Michael R. Banks, Esq. founded the Law Offices of Michael R. Banks, P.A., in 1999.  His legal practice is focused in the areas of estate planning, asset protection, business succession planning, medicaid planning, elder law, guardianship, probate/trust administration, and probate/trust litigation. 

Michael is licensed as an attorney in Florida (1996), Massachusetts (1992) and New York (1993).  

Michael is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the American Bar Association (Real Property, Probate and Trust Section); the Florida Bar (Real Property and Probate Law and Elder Law Sections); the Martin County Bar Association; and the Martin County Estate Planning Council.  He is also active in the local community, volunteering at Martin County Chapter of the American Red Cross (Board Member, Chair of the Financial Development Committee, 2002-2007) and United Way of Martin County.  Michael has often been recognized for his pro bono services in the community.  He was named “Martin County Attorney of the Year” in 2003, by the Florida Rural Legal Services, Inc., and the Martin County Bar Association.

Michael grew up in south Florida, graduating from Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach (1980).  He then attended Boston College (1984, A.B. History).  While there, he was a member of the then nationally ranked Boston College sailing team.  Michael earned his juris doctorate law degree from Boston University (1992).

Michael lives with his family in Stuart, Florida.  He enjoys sailboat racing and traveling internationally as well as within the United States.
